Finishing October - Starting November

This is part of my APDP project for the following months until the end of 20210,

For the following month, I will write a post after each class I am assigned. In order to do that, Since these classes are virtual or online. I would like to point out that this new environment has changed the process of learning and teaching for good. Along with new health challenges in the process.

I would like to sum up the things I saw in my classes this past October.

- AB06D this class was from 7: 00 am to 10:15 am.

The challenges they face was pronunciation. I did my best to help them but this particular classroom was full of people not eager to get corrected, but there is something I have seen in this class is the magic moments they had using "OREO" and follow-up questions. We can measure the achievements of this class in that point. I explained the "OREO" technique on the third day of class and on the fourth day of class I introduced follow-up questions. We used them most of the time where students participated. One of the coaches, Marissa Torres observed the use of OREO. She used to observe the need to improve teacher talking time and time management in my classes but this time she congratulates my improvement in those aspects. This is the way I felt motivated to make it even better. These notes are not about me and my "feelings". These notes are about how I can help people to achieve their goals. Let's go back to the class. I noticed there were people from different backgrounds, conditions and realities, and places. I had students from 4 different departments, 1 from Cuzco, 2 from Iquitos, and 1 from another part of the Peruvian Jungle. In one of the classes, I asked them how they were doing. I did this on the tenth day of class, This was good so if there were anything to correct, It would be good at this point.

They complain about the amount of time they had in the break out room. They felt they needed more practice, they also complained that many of the students were not participating actively.

- Since the classes are from different parts of the country now, This is something to take into consideration. A fair time in the breakout room taking into consideration that because of their connection they may experience they are using the time effectively. To send them in the break-out room for two minutes it will not make any good for some of them if they are away from Lima and if their internet connection is not that good. I also have to take into consideration that they are studying with what they have, sometimes a cellphone. They also complained about my writing in the chat in zoom. Taking into consideration the feedback. I do not know what they receive until I ask them. I decided to use on the drive as a means for them to see the material I am showing since some of them may have problems seeing my screen, my ppt or the whiteboard from zoom and in that way to avoid the excessive use of the chat.

In that google drive or google documents (both are in the ICT list) They had access to the grammar, models for the speaking, the answers for the workbook, and the grammar exercises. In that way, the students were able to check their own grammar exercises and workbook. and We had more time to discuss in class topics that would let them use the target grammar and vocabulary. We also were able to use "Kahoot" more often.

Achievement for this class this month, They learned to use "OREO" and follow up questions.
