Holiday and the changes I have noticed in Class. December 8th.

 It has been some time since I decided to work on a journal to talk about my work and the ways students are learning in the process of my practice at ICPNA. 

1. Today is a holiday, my family, my studies, and the need of my students are demanding more of my time which is good and it requires other measures. 

2. Some time ago, students were complaining about the problems they face with an internet connection, and the security system the institution suffers in the virtual environment. I received a letter where it says I have to pay close attention to it. I started working with "one drive" to solve that problem or at least help students to have instruments to face the challenge. First I created this account and students according to the month and level have access to the given folder.

In the folder, they have the speaking model, the grammar for lessons A and B for each unit of the cycle. They also have a folder with a model of the writing for the writing practice where they have the chance to correct the writing of a partner. They have a model for that too. They also have a folder for the final writing which in the end is done in class after they have worked on two drafts. The first draft is a practice in class, then they can use the model to correct a peer work, and then they can pay attention and review their own work using the model of the teacher. ( to improve this model and explanation I am going to prepare a video since my classes started to use this model, the final writing has improved a lot.)

3. In the previous month I have noticed students complaining about the lack of time they had in the breakout room. They also complained about the problems with connections. I decided to work closely with the OREO technique more than ever and follow up questions. I am going to prepare a model for follow up questions. The result of that is that students can use the time in the breakout rooms using more ideas to express their opinions and they learn how to use Wh- words to ask for more information. The challenge is that they found themselves elaborating questions in the proper way. One of the consequences of that students started to see they need even more time to express their own ideas. Since we are using one drive. Grammar explanation is more effective. We do not spend time checking the answers together since the answers are already there. something else is that we focus more on the communicative part. it makes it a challenge for the students since I make my presentations of the vocabulary with pictures, sentences, and definitions in the target language. They are getting used to reading the answers but they are not producing the answers, just a few of them. What we are doing with this approach is giving participation to everyone since we are giving them the tools to do it so. It is challenging and different at the beginning but by the end of the cycle. they can do it without problems.

1. We are following procedures on writing, flipping the class on that process, we are working on students productions training students on OREO and Follow up questions.
